Agency of None’s Dundee Design Festival

“We designed and produced Dundee Design Festival 2019 on the theme of liveable/loveble cities. Working with fellow designer Tommy Perman we created a variable font for the city and working with a team used this as the basis to transform an underused shopping centre in the city centre into a space that would bring the ideas and means of design to everyone.”

Type with Pride

On 31 March, 2017, Gilbert Baker the creator of the iconic Rainbow Flag sadly passed away. Mr. Baker was both an LGBTQ activist and artist, and was known for helping friends create banners for protests and marches. To honor the memory of Gilbert Baker, NewFest and NYC Pride partnered with Fontself to create a free font inspired by the design language of the iconic Rainbow Flag, the font was named ‘Gilbert’ after Mr. Baker. A preview version of the font can be downloaded for free from: typewithpride.com

Graphic Means documentary

“It’s been roughly 30 years since the desktop computer revolutionized the way the graphic design industry works. For decades before that, it was the hands of industrious workers, and various ingenious machines and tools that brought type and image together on meticulously prepared paste-up boards, before they were sent to the printer.

Graphic Means, explores graphic design production of the 1950s through the 1990s—from linecaster to photocomposition, and from paste-up to PDF.”

Graphic Means is a new documentary directed by Briar Levit www.graphicmeans.com
